What is EdenTrials?

Every national clinical trial register, read on a schedule and resolved into one record: 557,992 trials across 244 countries and territories. It is joined outward to the published literature, the molecules, the patents and the company filings a registry has no field for, and because it is read on a schedule it also records what moved between one reading and the next.

Why does keeping every version matter?

Most registers publish what is true today and overwrite what they said yesterday, so a completion date slipping by eight months or an enrollment target quietly halved leaves no trace. That is true of India, China, Germany, Korea, Japan and the EU portal among others, and on those registers our copies are the only ones. It is NOT true everywhere: ClinicalTrials.gov publishes its own full history of changes and always has. What we add there is that the same question can be asked across all twenty registers at once, in one vocabulary.

How is this different from searching a registry directly?

Three ways. It answers across every register at once, so a trial in Accra or Lahore lands in the same result set as one in Boston. It answers about the past as well as the present, so you can see that a date has already moved three times. And it reaches what the registers do not carry: the molecule, its approvals, the literature, and the filings that name it.

How wide is the coverage?

Every national trial register we can reach, read on the same schedule and held to the same standard, across 244 countries and territories. That includes the registers the commercial databases do not license, which is why a trial in Accra or Lahore is here and not there. Which registers those are is not something we publish.

557,992 trials, with about 2,371,337 site records behind them, across 244 countries and territories. **The largest single register is well under half of it.** Most of the corpus comes from registers outside the United States, and those are the trials the commercial databases do not hold.

How current is it?

Collection runs unattended on a schedule. Freshness is verified rather than assumed: a drift check samples the corpus at random and compares each trial against the live register, and a hash guard fails the nightly job if a stored record no longer matches what the collector would write today.

How much detail is kept per trial?

Up to 342 distinct fields from ClinicalTrials.gov, and everything each other register publishes. The complete source record is stored raw and append-only, so a field nobody thought to extract today can be extracted next year and backfilled to the first day of collection.

How are therapeutic areas assigned?

Outside ClinicalTrials.gov no register publishes MeSH terms, so we read the condition text ourselves and reach 91.6% of the corpus. Where a condition is not recognized the trial carries no area rather than a guess, which is what makes that figure worth quoting rather than merely large.

How long is the change record?

Continuous observation began 20 August 2026 and 21,212 changes have been recorded since. It is young and it deepens every day the collectors run. On registers that publish only current state and overwrite it, these are the only copies of what was said before; ClinicalTrials.gov publishes its own history, so there the value is that the same question reaches all twenty registers at once.

What can I search?

Ranked full text across every register at once, with stemming, phrase matching and negation, filtered by status, phase, country, register or rare disease. Every spelling of a country is folded in for you: China alone appears under 48 of them, and a filter matching only the literal word silently drops the rest.

What is a watchlist?

A saved question, not a saved list of results. It stores the query itself, so a trial registered next month that fits the question is caught automatically. A frozen list only ever answers the question asked on the day it was asked.

How do alerts work?

After each sweep, newly recorded changes are matched against every saved watchlist and assembled into one morning digest per person, most serious first. Alerts run after the differ, so a watch never reports an empty window and then advances past it.

What can it tell me about a company?

Its whole pipeline as one chart, with the completion dates that moved marked on the bar, and how many times each was revised. Where it runs and what it works on. And which other listed companies name its molecules in their own SEC filings, assembled from EDGAR and ChEMBL. We report the counts; what they mean about a company is your read, and we publish no score, grade or ranking of one.

Watchlists, saved questions and alert history are private per account and isolated at the database row level, enforced from the first row rather than retrofitted. The trial records are public. What is private is the set of questions you ask of them.

Every figure is generated from the production database rather than typed, and carries the date it was measured. These were measured 8 September 2026. A number on a page is a claim, and a claim nobody refreshes becomes false quietly.
